Click to launch rocket...

A mad scientist builds a rocket, and launches if from the top of a tall building. Before launching the rocket, he places a monkey inside. While in the rocket, the monkey sits on bathroom scales that the scientist can read remotely.

While the rocket engines are burning, the rocket accelerates upward at 9.8 m/s2. The rocket engines burn out precisely at t = 4.00s. After this time, they produce no thrust.

The rocket's trajectory causes it to miss the building on the way back down.  Neglect any effects due to air resistance.

Note: please don't worry about the monkey - a parachute opens after the rocket leaves the applet window.

Before the rocket launches, the bathroom scales register 120N for the weight of the monkey.

What is the weight of the monkey (as registered by the bathroom scales) just after the rocket takes off (t = 1.00s)? N

What is the monkey's weight just before the rocket engine turns off (t = 3.95s)? N

What is the monkey's weight just after the rocket engine turns off (t = 4.05s)? N

What weight do the bathroom scales register for the monkey as the rocket reaches its highest point? N

What weight do the bathroom scales register for the monkey as the rocket falls to a point close to the top of the building (t = 13.6s)? N
