Introduction

This laboratory will provide you with a number of measurements and exercises that will facilitate your study of magnetic fields.

In this laboratory, you will:

  1. Use a small compass to draw  a field map of a permanent magnet.
  2. Observe currents induced in coils by changing magnetic fluxes.
  3. Verify Lenz's Law for a variety of situations.

Equipment

Small compass, permanent magnets, galvanometer, coil, assorted wires.
